Bobcats are beautiful…from a distance. I constantly see people wanting to go right up to wildlife, but there’s a reason they are call “wild life”. These animals may appear really tame before they give quite a substantial bite or scratch. We don’t have them on Long Island, but we do have foxes. Another smaller animal that can appear friendly until it attacks you. They aren’t doing it to be mean, it’s instinct. Even deer are not to be toyed with in the wild. Unless it’s an animal that I am comfortable with like a snake or a turtle, I usually leave wildlife alone. There are rare occasions that an animal is hurt or the animals have built up trust for humans that I will relax my distance rule. It’s always best to be safe than sorry. The disclaimer you provided should be common sense, but we often find it to be necessary. Always enjoy the outings to Busch Wildlife, it’s on my list of places to visit when I move back to Florida.

This once again shows just how much Amy and the whole team at Busch Wildlife hard work and dedication to making sure all of the animals there, are really given love and attention to make the animals lives as full and safe as possible. It’s always is a great day when Amy and Kenan get together especially when they are just soaking up some very valuable cuddle time with the animals. I can see this post has revived Kenan’s love of cats, definitely miss seeing the ole gentle max 🐈wandering around the Kamp 🤗🤗

No it is not, I have had 2 run ins with bobs that were not the typical turn and run. The last being turkey season and my daughters boyfriend taking one to the shoulder and face that thought he was lunch. Give them space if you are not at a rescue. That 30-40 lbs cat will wreck you.

I’ve loved bobcats since I was a kid seeing them here in the wild in Kansas! So cool to see them up close and talking to each other!!!

No kidding about the bob cats being smaller in south Florida. Where im from we see them the size of mid sized dogs. I have a friend i use to hunt with that got attacked by a bob cat. He ended up with hundreds of stitches out of the encounter.

Awww I didn't know you had a cat! Orange cats are one of the best kinds of cats to have. My favorite cats over the years have been orange cats, tabbys, tortoise shells, siamese and black cats 😀My current black cat, Eve (after all hallows eve), is 18 years old! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! A local bobcat likes to visit our deck. My room-mate got great photos of her. Big, healthy & adorable. I live in a National Forest, so I see lots of wildlife: eagles, pelicans, hawks, osprey, mountain lion, fox, deer. A bear came by my house once. We get raccoons, coyotes, opossums & even flying squirrels, though they're rare. I don't see many reptiles other than the fence lizards & side-spot lizards, but I know there're Rattlesnakes & King snakes in our area.

A Floridaman needs some Tigers or Ligers in his backyard !!
